HTC M7 to Be Announced in Early February

HTC plans to unveil its new M7 smartphone, a flagship model for the first half of 2013, in London in early February, according to sources at the supply chain.

The M7 will be powered by a Qualcomm 1.7.GHz quad-core processor set on Android 4.2 OS. The flagship model will also come with a 4.7-inch SoLux 1080p full HD 468ppi touchscreen and a 13-megapixel rear camera, supporting 4G LTE standards, the sources revealed.

HTC is expected to start delivering the M7 in the second half of March 2013, the sources noted.

HTC, along with a number of smartphone vendors including Samsung Electronics, Nokia, LG Electronics, Motorola Mobility, Sony Mobile Communications, Lenovo, Huawei and ZTE, will also participate in the forthcoming Mobile World Conference (MWC) in Barcelona, Spain from February 25-28.

While HTC and Samsung have no plans to unveil their flagship models at the MWC, LG is expected to release its next-generation flagship model, the Optimus G2, at the event. The Optimus G2, powered by a Qualcomm quad-core CPU, will come with a 5.5-inch 1080p full HD touchscreen and a 13-megapixel camera.

China-based Huawei is likely to unveil its ultra-thin flagship model, the Ascend P2, at the MWC. The Ascend P2 will be powered by a HiSilicon K3V2 1.8GHz quad-core processor and equipped with a 4.5-inch 1080p full HD touch display as well as a 13-megapixel camera, according to industry sources.
