LG Announces First 15.6-inch Ultrabook

LG announced the U560, which is a mammoth 15.6-inch Ultrabook, complete with the brand badge.

Granted, it's just 2 cm thick when closed, and weighs a little over 2 kg, but is still quite big and heavy. LG put the extra volume to use by cramming in a 15.6-inch IPS LED screen with 1600 x 900 pixels native resolution, which sadly isn't a touchscreen, a Core i5 dual-core processor clocked at 1.80 GHz, 8 GB of RAM, discrete NVIDIA GeForce graphics, a combination of SSD and HDD storage (likely SSD-accelerated HDD), and an optical drive (uncharacteristic of an Ultrabook).

The U560 launch is currently restricted to Korea, where like Europe, 15.6-inch is a hit notebook screen size.

There's no word on launch elsewhere.
