Acer Intros Liquid E1 and Z2 Smartphones Ahead of MWC 2013

Today, computer maker Acer officially announced the upcoming availability of two new Android-based smartphones, the Liquid E1 and Z2, which are also the first two devices in its 2013 lineup.

The new handsets arrive on shelves with a new industrial design in pearl white and carbon black, while also featuring dual-SIM capabilities, the company announced, adding that it will showcase both of them at MWC 2013 in Barcelona next week.

The Acer Liquid E1 arrives on shelves with a 4.5-inch qHD display, while also packing a dual-core processor inside, as well as two speakers, aimed at providing users with a great multimedia experience while on the go.

Furthermore, the new device sports a unique Float Caller notification, which was designed to ensure that users won’t be bothered by incoming calls or messages that could take over the screen while using apps or watching videos.

The Float Caller notification window will pop up in such situations, alerting users on the incoming call or message and providing them with the possibility to take the call or reply with a quick text.

Liquid E1 also features an impressive dual-speaker system and DTS Sound for enhanced audio with volume maximization, so users can freely enjoy music stored locally or streamed from their PC through AcerCloud.

Running under Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, the phone also sports 1GB of RAM and a 4GB ROM, as well as a microSD memory card slot. Furthermore, it packs a 5-megapixel photo snapper on the back, 0.3MP front camera, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0+EDR, Accelerometer, e-compass, light, and proximity sensors.

Liquid Z2 was designed with a quick mode navigation tool, so as to provide first-time smartphone users with a fluid first time experience, while also offering support for great Internet browsing, photography, and listening to music via AcerCloud support.

The handset sports a 3.5-inch HVGA (480x320) screen, a 1GHz processor, 512MB of RAM and 4GB ROM, microSD memory card slot, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0+EDR, A-GPS, 3MP or 5MP camera, and Google’s Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system loaded on top.
