4 GB of DDR3 RAM (random access memory) back said chip, though there is no discrete graphics card. Buyers will have to make do with the HD graphics 2500 included in the CPU.
At least the iGP is enough for the Full HD display (1920 x 1080 pixels). While demanding games won't work well, if at all, video playback and other basic tasks will run fine.
Storage-wise, Medion chose an HDD (hard disk drive) of 1 TB instead of an SSD, to keep costs low.
The spec sheet also mentions an ODD (DVD/CD burner), a 1-megapixel webcam (including microphone), Wi-Fi (Wireless LAN Wireless LAN 802.11n) and 6-channel audio.
As for connectivity and I/O, the press release specified two USB 3.0 ports (at the back), four USB 2.0 connectors (two at the back, two on the side), an HDMI input, one HDMI output, microphone / line-out jacks (audio, one of each at the back and on the side panels), and a Multi-card reader (the side, again).
As for software, Microsoft's Windows 8 Operating System 64-bit is installed, along with the Kaspersky Internet Security 2013 antivirus (90 Day Trial) and the Office Software Office 365 Home Premium (one-month free trial version). The price is of £500 ($770 / 587 Euro).
