Xbox One Officially Confirmed for Launch in Japan in 2014

Microsoft has officially confirmed that it's going to debut the Xbox One next-gen console in Japan sometime in 2014, although it can't give a more accurate release window or date.

The company is getting ready to debut the Xbox One on November 22 in 13 countries around the world, a steep decline from the 22 territories that were revealed earlier this year.

One of the "tier two" countries that won't get the Xbox One this year is Japan, as Microsoft has already hinted on several occasions that it won't debut the console until next year.

Now, Microsoft's Phil Spencer has confirmed to Famitsu that the Xbox One will be released in Japan in 2014.

Unfortunately for Japanese Xbox fans, he hasn’t offered a more accurate release window, so they'll have to wait for more details to appear at a later point in time.

Sony is set to debut its PlayStation 4 in Japan on February 22, 2014.
