T-Mobile outs a trio of budget-friendly smartphones in the US

T-Mobile US quietly announced a trio of budget-oriented Android smartphones. Samsung Galaxy Light, Alcatel One Touch Evolve, and Alcatel One Touch Fierce joined the carrier’s lineup, with the last two already on its shelves.

Leading the way is the Samsung Galaxy Flame. The Korean offering packs a lot of punch in its pocket-friendly body. The handset sports a 1.4GHz quad-core CPU made by Samsung, 1GB of RAM, and 8GB of built-in storage which can be further expanded via microSD card slot.

The display of the Samsung Galaxy Flame is a 4” unit with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels. There’s a 5MP camera on the back and a .3MP front-facing unit. NFC, Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, and 1,800mAh battery complete the known specs.

The Alcatel One Touch Fierce on the other hand sports a larger, 4.5” display with qHD resolution (960 x 540 pixels). It is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core MediaTek CPU, and features a gig of RAM alongside 2.4GB of available storage which can be further expanded.

The One Touch Fierce offers a 5MP main camera and VGA front-facing unit. It boots Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and, like the Galaxy Flame, is powered by a 1,800mAh battery.

Finally, there’s the Alcatel One Touch Evolve. Powered by a 1GHz single-core MediaTek CPU, it surely won’t shatter any benchmark records. The rest of the entry-level device’s specs include 512MB of RAM, 4GB of built-in memory, microSD card slot, 4” WVGA display, 5MP camera, and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

Pricing and availability of the Samsung Galaxy Flame are yet to be revealed. The Alcatel One Touch Fierce is currently available for $19.99 down and 24 monthly payments of $6, while its lesser sibling is priced at $27.99 down and 24 monthly payments of $3.
