ASUS ESC4000 G2 Servers Support Tesla K40 GPU Accelerators

ASUS today announced that its world-leading ESC4000 G2 series server range now supports the next-generation NVIDIA Tesla K40 (Kepler) GPU accelerators.

ESC4000 G2 series ranks very highly in the world's high-performance computing (HPC) tables, claiming the number 59 spot in the November 2013 TOP500 - the definitive list of the world's most powerful commercially available computers. The ESC4000 G2-powered SANAM cluster put in an incredible performance to deliver total processing power of 532.6TFLOPS.

Now, with Kepler, ESC4000 G2 is ready to go even further. With four Tesla K40 GPU accelerators ESC4000 G2 could provide up to 5.72TFLOPS double-precision floating-point performance, delivering extreme HPC capabilities to a widening range of scientific, engineering and enterprise applications.

ASUS ESC4000 G2 series support up to eight PCI Express 3.0 x16 slots for high expandability and is compatible with a wide range of cards - including the new NVIDIA Tesla K40 GPU accelerator. ESC4000 G2 offers a seamless upgrade path to Tesla K40, with no need for users to update the BIOS.

ESC4000 G2 series servers support up to four graphics cards have two fans in the GPU area, doubling the airflow and providing redundancy for extra reliability during intense use. ESC4000 G2 also includes Intelligent System Fan Control II, which independently controls both CPU- and GPU-area fan speeds for better airflow and heat venting.

With a 1+1 1620W 80 PLUS Platinum-level redundant power supply, ESC4000 G2 also offers incredible power efficiency - of up to 94% - so organizations benefit from instant energy savings and significantly reduced total cost of ownership.
